Fear 2 is set minutes before the end of Fear, this time you take control of SGT. Michael becket, part of a special forces team sent to recover Genevieve Aristide, President of Armacham Technology. You arrive at your target just to be hit by the aftermath of a nuke set off by the original fear team at the end of the first Fear. Not only do you wake up to discover that you have lost your target, but also that the city is all but destroyed, and that you are separated from you team.
In this first person, horror survival as soon as the game kicks off the atmosphere keeps you on your toes from the start, not knowing whats around the next corner you are always ready to take on anything that comes your way. That is untill Alma starts popping up here and there to scare you half to death, not knowing were she is going to come from next starts to make you jump at your own shadows. You straight away notice that there is something different her, she is older, but how? this is set right after fear, but all will be explained later.
Thought the game you will start to think “I think Alma is trying to kill me” I can see why as she hurls creates at you and try’s to strangle you to death but she only does this because she is drawn to you by the power you have with-in. These powers allow you so slow down time (just like bullet time) were you can use this to aid you in difficult fights.
Not only do you have Alma to contend with you also have ATC security’s black Ops trying to take you down, to stop you finding out what is going on. This time round they have more fire power in the shape of napalm cannons and mech’s that can deal out some insane fire power. You do get to use one or two of these to help you though some difficult stages .
Working your way though the levels from a school infested with ghosts to a underground prison, were someone has been experimenting on people turning them into very fast aggressive monsters. With the flash backs you have you should have worked out that you were one of the people that had a experiment done on, this is what gave you your powers. now you know why Alma wants you so much.
As you go though the game you start to find out what happened to Alma and why she hates people so much. She was just a little girl that was taken to be tested on and cloned due to her having super human powers this is also why she is older. You have to put a stop to her once and for all. the only way you can do this is by using a pod and applying its power to yours. Once you get in and start it up you get double crossed by someone helping you stop Alma, so left helpless Alma comes and starts ripping you apart. you end up going to a different dimension were one of your team how killed himself try’s to stop you from turning on the pod, in the end you do it only to wake up and find Alma stood over you pregnant with your baby, How? No one knows but I can see a Fear 3 at some point if it’s as good as the first two it’s a must buy.
