Assassins Creed 2

Now when someone asked me about Assassins Creed I always went into the same rant, every mission is the same it’s so repetitive, nothing changes, you help a few people, you kill your target then you run away then you repeat. This is all you did and because of this I never finished the game and never got to find out the whole story behind what was going on. So needless to say when I heard that Assassins Creed 2 was on the cards I always said “I am not getting that, I hated the first one” and in fact I didn’t buy it I stole my brother’s copy instead and I was not disappointed with this one.

The story felt a lot smoother with all the side missions optional, instead of them being a need to do part of the game. The map was still very big with a number of different city’s to go to and do your thing. The fact they also put a quick travel in was a good move I hated having to use a horse that would not go where you wanted it to, this may cost you some gold but it’s not even a dent in what you earn while playing the game.

The whole movement while climbing, running, swimming was a lot smoother as well. But like any game while climbing things and you want to jump one way then they jump the other and this can give you a headache as I found out but I will not hold this against them. You will find that you are unable to jump some gaps while climbing at first, you get trained in this later with other things you need to get though the game which was a nice touch but at the same time enough you when you see something you want to get and you are just out of reach.

The combat is a lot more fluent and moves are easier to pull off, like the counters but the achievements for doing some moves on so many enemies at once are not so easy a nice challenge to unlock these. The fact that you have to disarm the bigger enemy’s and use their own weapons against then is a nice touch and can cause problems when fighting a few of them at once, but who wants a fight to be easy.

I found the stories easy to follow and the ending was left on a cliff-hanger ready for the next game in the series which I have to say I will play if it plays like this one. All in all a massive improvement over Assassins Creed.
